Alright, lets see how this works out ;)
Another long day today, after a LONG and emotional weekend. Kodey didn't get any sleep last night, due to pain and numbness in his tailbone and leg area. While he has had some pretty intense back pain since iraq, the tailbone and numbness issue started up within the last couple weeks. and it only seems to be getting worse :( i feel helpless. he cant seem to get any relief. None of the scans seem to show anything, so doctors aren't sure what to do, and we keep hitting dead ends. Dad came to sit at hotel with kids while i took kodey into metro...only he wouldn't go! (big surprise, right?!) apparently va wont order another scan, and our insurance wont cover another one for a few more months. va is willing to order xray, but kodey doesn't want to wont bother, knowing it wont show anything.so, when my dad arrived, kodey and i went down to the hot tub together, got the kids ready, and went to Panera Bread with my parents before taking Hayla to school and dropping Riley off at Amanda's (THANKS AGAIN)!
The kids are exhausted. my poor little man is either getting a cold or getting rid of the crap he inhaled from the fire.
Took a break on this, and took much needed nap. Riley has been sleeping since we picked him up from Amanda's-just going to let him sleep.he needs it, we all do :/ Kept waking up coughing, starting to get a lot of drainage, ribs are still extremely uncomfortable (doesn't help that molly decided to nap on my chest ;) ). Thinking all riley's drainage is related to the fire also.
Ordered some supplements from amanda bassett today :) she also did a belly wrap for me :D after losing 15 lbs in a week, figured what the heck. kodey is stunned. lol. i was planning on throwing a ItWorks party before my sisters wedding for the wedding party...BUT i don't have anywhere to host now. lol. anyways, really looking forward to getting the Greens and some vitamins and what not back in our systems. Picked up vitamins for the kids right away, but of course...nothing for me and kodey (and we had just received new shipment from GNC a few weeks ago from when they were having a huge sale, so of course most is unopened but not safe to use :( )
Anyone have a good recommendation as to where i could get a good pedi? my feet are a mess from walking around inside the house. not really sure what is available in the cedar, kent city area...
so anyways, back to today. lol. (still sleep deprived, and a TON going on, so i apologize if i am all over the place!)
So, after Panera, my parents dropped hayla at school so we could drop riley off to amanda and get to the house to meet with the guy who is supposed to figure out where we can put a full sized trailer on our property. well, we were hopeful....until he opened his mouth. he was rude, and def didn't want the job. after talking to insurance company, found out the quote to get trailer on property INCLUDES trees being taken down, etc if need be. We just lost our home, and pretty much everything in it, trust me we aren't worried about some trees right now. i am worried about keeping my family together and getting back to some kind of "normalcy" or "routine" for my children and husband. also, kodey was recently put back on blood pressure medication and it has been very difficult to make changes to his diet and whatnot since "living" out of cars and hotel.
We were put up in a hotel in comstock park, only to move to my parents for the weekend because they didn't have room for us, then back to the hotel last night (could have stayed at my parents longer, but Hudsonville is quite a stretch right now). We are in a room with a king bed, a pull out couch, a mini fridge with the depth only deep enough for a pack of juice boxes, a microwave, and a small separate room with a bunk bed, dresser and pack and play. We also have Molly (our choc lab we got only 2 weeks before fire) and were able to save one of our kitty's. We are all restless. the animals are restless, the kids are restless. gotta love tight spaces :D
the sooner we can get back "home" the better. this is a major prayer request right now.
still haven't been able to find my binder with ALL login/password info for ALL accounts, some are hard to retrieve as we are unable to find some account numbers, and not every account is able to be contacted or paid by phone. also lost checks, so waiting on those. really praying either the book will turn up or we will be able to find another way to keep our accounts up to date, so our credit doesn't take a hit in the process.
oh, and we found out yesterday that everything is on hold for now, pending further investigation. the builder is able to get permits and have architect draw something up, but other than that we are at a stand still. unable to remove anything more from the house to itemize (which is pretty much everything)...
being the outstanding organizer i am **wink wink**...and the fact that they were able to pull filing cabinets out of our room, i was able to give the investigator the inspection report from HouseMasters (done before we closed on house), receipt from when we had chimney cleaned and inspected back in march AND all the info the seller left for us from the addition they added back in '99 (which is when chimney and fireplace were added).
...ok. so while we are going through some serious spiritual warfare right now, here are some ANSWERS TO PRAYER! : ALL OF YOU! there are way too many to list, and a lot of you are still unnamed. the love, support, faithfulness in lifting us up in prayer, pulling items together for us...WOW. I'm not going to lie, kodey and i are both struggling with how much everyone is doing for us and our kiddos. Very humbling. also, kodey will be attending church with me and the kids on sunday!! yes, you are all planting the seed for my husband, who has been struggling with his faith since his tour in iraq. We have decided on a builder and are super excited to "work" with him and his wife, who happen to be distant relatives of kodeys (small world). They are also very active in fundraising and what not for Wounded Warriors and know the local contact for Pets for Vets(which i'd never heard of). I am so excited to learn how my family can get involved with these organizations once things settle down a bit. i sent in the online application to get another dog for kodey on friday, so hopefully we will hear something back soon! Also very thankful the other builder we were seriously considering still wants to be involved in the rebuild and wants to put bids in on anything the builder contracts out. Got a total "nanna deal" at kohl's the other day when i went to pick up a couple things for myself to get started this week!!~Found an adorable Lauren Conrad dress on clearance rack i thought would be perfect for my brother Nate's wedding in july. original price was like $58 or $68. i knew it was significantly marked down, but didn't realize how much! was showing it to my sister the next day, and it was marked down to $6.80...AND i got another 20% off! Very thankful we were able to get 15% of total order at target in jenison over the weekend. Needed some necessities and storage containers. The woman helping me get storage happened to be in charge of human resources and gave us 10% off everything, then i was able to get an extra 5% with my target debit card :D and also kohls in grandville, for giving us the 20% "friends and family discount" even though we didn't have the coupon on us. oh, AND my matron of honor dress for my sister stephanie's june 2nd wedding was spared!(had to be dry cleaned and put through ozone treatment a couple times tho), and so were my shoes!!...now just find the time to get it altered :/ dress is size 16, and i am down to an 8 now :X We were also able to connect with a guy at the new Army Strong Community center in walker. he will be helping us organize and complete kodey's CRSC paperwork in all this craziness! He will also be referring kodey to outpatient treatment program for veterans and their families with tbi and ptsd.
does anyone know of a good eye doctor in cedar springs or kent city area? my glasses were also lost in fire...and once again, since we are new to the area, not really sure what is available...
kids are pretty well set as far as clothing for awhile, like i said, we are so overwhelmed! we could still use a pair of tennis shoes and/or sandals for each of the kids. hayla is in a 10 riley a 6. kodey also currently has 1 pair of boots. he's in a 9.5. i haven't had time to do much shopping for myself or kodey, and funds are very limited right now with everything being on hold. if anyone has clothes they aren't able to use anymore in a mens 30x32 or 32x32 shirt size small or medium. also, kodey could really use some pajama pants or sweats. i am down to a sz 8 pants and medium shirt. belts? undershirts or tanktops? kodey and i each have about a 5 outfits, but the weather has been awful. kodey was given a carhart jacket, but is quite heavy once the sun comes out. i have 1 pull over fleece and 1 zip up hoodie, which at times isn't too warm...so if anyone has hoodies or fleeces you'd like to get rid of, i promise they will be put to good use! oh! and if anyone has storage bins you no longer need, those would def come in handy in keeping things semi-organized through this process.
Have a blessed Wednesday!
